Lost Girls: The Amazoness Quartet
The Amazoness Quartet are introduced to the story in act 34, which is the first true act of the SuperS arc of Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon. In this act, Tokyo is darkened by a full lunar eclipse that brings with it the Dead Moon Circus. The Amazoness Quartet (Jun Jun, Ves Ves, Palla Palla, and Cere Cere), young girls with magic balls, are part of the DMC. They answer to Zirconia, whom they call "Grandmother."
Act 34 is one of the busiest acts for the Quartet. All bad guys have to have subordinate bad guys, so Palla Palla (who happens to be the busiest of the quartet) turns a hawk, a fish, and a tiger into human beings. Hawkseye, Fisheye, and Tigerseye do nothing until later, however. The quartet learn quickly of the sailor soldiers' identities, and that Usagi and Chibi Usa are both jealous of each others' positions. Palla Palla decides to play a trick on them, and causes them to switch ages.
In act 35, the spell wears off the Usagi and Chibi Usa, and the first round of soldier-testing begins. Ami walks into the Dead Moon Circus's fish store, and Palla Palla convinces her to buy a particular fish, which later transforms into Fisheye. He tests Sailormercury's conviction in being a soldier, and tries to convince her that no one loves her and her dream is to be worthy of her parents' and friends' love. Her inner guardian wakes her up and reminds her that she is loved by many people, and that she is strong enough to protect them. She realizes her true dream is to be a soldier and protect the people she loves. She receives a powerup, and transforms into Super Sailormercury and kills Fisheye.
Act 36 brings the grand opening of the Dead Moon Circus, and Tigerseye attacks Rei, trying to convince her that her dream is to marry a rich man, rather than be a priestess. Phobos & Deimos, her guardian crows, appear to her and give her the powerup while reminding her of her true dream of being a soldier. She attacks Tigerseye and kills him. Act 37 involves Hawkseye trying to convince Makoto to drop being a sailor soldier in favor of following her original dream - to open a cake and flower shop. Her inner guardian reminds her of her desire to be the strongest soldier, and gives her her upgrade. She transforms and kills Hawkseye.
Act 38 is the first fight between Minako, Zeolite, and Xenotime. It isn't until act 39, however, when Artemis shows her his human form, and gives her her powerup. Sailorvenus kills Zeolite and Xenotime, and then the Amazoness Quartet attacks the inner soldiers. In another part of Tokyo, Sailorsaturn is awakened, and the outer soldiers have received their new transformations. They join the fight, and Sailorstarchibimoon and Sailorsaturn are attacked by the Quartet and trapped in the magic balls to be taken to Zirconia. However, Zirconia is not pleased with the Quartet's lack of progress in enslaving Tokyo, and traps them in their magic balls.
We do not see the Amazoness Quartet again until the end of act 42, after Princess Serenity and Prince Endymion are coronated King and Neo-Queen of the new Silver Millennium. Sailorsaturn requests that Neo-Queen Serenity free the Quartet, and she complies. The newly-freed Quartet appears in Sailor suits, and introduce themselves as Sailor Ceres, Sailor Pallas, Sailor Juno, and Sailor Vesta; the four guardians of Small Lady, who carry the protection of the four asteroids of the solar system. They explain that their true awakening will come when she becomes a strong soldier on her own.
Found Guardians: The Sailor Quartet
Chibi Usa goes back to the 30th century, and remains there for most of the rest of the Stars arc. In act 48, she decides to go back to the past to help Eternal Sailormoon fight. She uses her Pink Moon Crystal to transform into Sailorstarchibimoon, and the asteroid soldiers appear, introducing themselves as the "Sailor Quartet." In act 49, they transport to the past, and save Sailormoon, Princess Kakyuu, and the Sailor Starlights from Sailor Heavy Metal Papillion with their joint attack, "Pink Ladies Freezing Kiss." The Quartet then kills Heavy Metal Papillion by attacking her with "Amazoness Jungle Arrow." They continue to help Sailormoon and the others fight the evil incarnations of the 8 Sailor Soldiers and Tuxedo Kamen, even after Kakyuu and the Starlights are killed, and Sailorchibimoon disappears.
In the end, when Eternal Sailormoon has sacrificed herself to the Galaxy Cauldron, the Quartet are the only ones left with Sailor Cosmos, watching the ordeal. They are the ones Sailor Cosmos explains everything too, about her history with Sailor Chaos in the far-reaching future, and how she came back to the past as Chibi Chibi to push Eternal Sailormoon into making the right decision. She then sends them to the 30th century to look after Sailorchibimoon and act as Small Lady's guardians.
